Tricontinental’s team was part of the very first Sustainable Tourism Solutions Expo, held in Luang Prabang last week.
Bringing hospitality businesses and vendors of sustainable products together, along with technology, and services, the Sustainable Tourism Solutions Expo is the first event of its kind in the region. Learn about and purchase sustainable alternatives to traditional tourism and hospitality supplies, such as environmentally-friendly cleaning products and toiletries, plastic-free packaging, locally produced substitutes to imported food and beverages, energy saving technology, and handmade gifts and decor. Create a tourism business which is sustainable, cost-efficient, and a market leader in today’s world.
Tricontinental presented our new range of green products, such as Bfooding.Bio catering items made from bagasse, wood, and bioplastic.
What is bagasse? Bagasse is made from sugarcane, and is biodegradable and compostable after 90-days.
Our wood range are made from renewable natural Birch wood sourced from sustainably managed Forest – Certified plantations. Biodegradable and compostable between 90-180 days.
PLA or Polyactic acid is a bioplastic made from sugar found in sugarcane, corn, beets, etc. This material is compostable & biodegradable. Mainly used for lids, drinking straw, and cups for cold drinks. CPLA is crystalized Polyactic acid; hence a bit stronger and opaque, and is suitable for hot drinks, soups and cutlery.
Both PLA and CPLA are biodegradable within 6 months in composting facilities, or approximately within 2-years in nature.
On top of that, Bfooding.Bio is using water-based ink for printing, especially for our colored drinking straws and customizations.
Tricontinental has also selected a series of brands that respects green policies, such as Chilewich, Steelite, Pasha, JVD electrical appliances, and many others.
